The Boy Scouts Book of Campfire Stories ReviewWhen I read the short stories in this book, it reminded me of a time as a kid when I loved to hear tales spun and delivered by story tellers that could bring the characters and drama to life. Indeed, story-telling was a true art form and the memory of this is captured in "The Boy Scouts Book of Campfire Stories".There are some classics here: "That Spot" by Jack London relates the uneasiness of two young prospectors working hard to find their fortune while trying to shake one of their sled dogs who turns out to be more of a curse than a blessing.
"The End of the Trail" by Clarence Mulford has Hopalong Cassidy chasing down a rustler who tried to kill one of his partners. Mulford brings out the language and diction of a long in America that has long since passed but still resonates with us.
