Dragonflies of North America: A Color and Learn Book With Activities ReviewNot too long ago I noticed dragonflies around my swimming pool. They were multi-colored and had fascinating antics. About the time of my dragonfly discovery, I heard a lecture was to be given at the Santa Rosa Garden Club about dragonflies, so I attended the lecture, orchestrated by Kathy Biggs. Dragonflies are her passion and she has studied them for years. She is one of few individuals quite knowledgeable on the subject, you might say she's an expert. She displayed a coloring book with pictures of many Dragonflies of North America. The book is not only a delightful coloring book, but is an accurate educational tool. I purchased one for my 5-year-old grandson who was immediately enraptured! Not only is there a great variety of dragonflies to color, but careful descriptions are given to help one distinguish the various kinds of dragonflies. I would encourage anyone whose boy or girl is interested in garden creatures, nature or coloring to purchase one of these books. The book is reasonably priced, considering it is has an educational nature as well as fun. It lends itself to crayons, colored pencils or colored markers.
